Hasina-Khaleda exchange so-called Eid greetings
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Leader of the Opposition Khaleda Zia have exchanged Eid greetings cards though both of them are currently abroad.
The two top leaders of Bangladesh’s two main political parties have been exchanging Eid greetings by sending each other cards for a long time though they don’t have a working relation.
The two political archrivals, who alternately ruled Bangladesh for the last two decades, don’t meet for a long time.
Prime Minister’s Protocol Officer delivered Hasina’s greeting card to Khaleda’s Personal Secretary Saleh Ahmed at parliament building on Monday.
In return, Saleh Ahmed delivered Khaled’a Eid card to Prime Minister’s Personal Secretary-2, Selina Begum, at the PMO.
The Prime Minister is currently in the UK to attend an international conference while the BNP chief is in Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah.
The two arch rivals last shared a table on Sept 10, 2009 at the Iftar party organised by the Armed Forces Division.
Awami League did not attend the Iftar party of the opposition chief on August 17, 2010.
